About Us
Kaveri, a women’s boutique was founded by Kaveri Satpathy in the beautiful Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. Kaveri, who grew up in Wales, often visited boutiques in London, particularly the ones in Notting Hill, Kensington and Hampstead. She drew much of her inspiration from these shopping experiences. She has tried to distil and recreate three characteristics that appealed to her as a shopper – a warm welcoming environment, a well edited collection of clothes that are timeless rather than faddish, and service that is genuine, honest and not pushy. The store focuses only on women’s clothing and accessories and tries to do that one thing well.Kaveri realizes that shopping is a way for women to get away briefly from the daily chores of life, release stress and relax for a while. The store is designed to provide that relaxing shopping environment. The aesthetic is subtle and the environment is warm. The clothes are displayed in a very accessible manner and everyone is equally welcome whether they are stopping for a few minutes on their way back form the gym or want to stroll in after a weekend brunch.
Kaveri’s vision is to offer women classic pieces of clothing that have a sexy and sophisticated twist to them. The merchandise is not overly trendy - the aim is that the clothes will be in a customers wardrobe for many seasons, not just one. Designers that the store carries includes a good mix of well known names and emerging ones from the two coasts and Europe.
